The long leaves of Hierochloe odorata are carefully dried and left unbraided, so the strands can remain long, be shaped into smaller bundles, or be braided.
We source our sweetgrass from a certified organic farm, where it is cultivated for its long, fragrant leaves and naturally sweet aroma. The leaves are carefully dried to preserve their flexible form. The familiar vanilla-hay scent comes from coumarin, a compound naturally present in the grass. No fragrance is added.
