Boswellia occulta is a distinct Somali frankincense species that was formally described by botanists in 2019. Before it was recognized and harvested separately, its resin was commonly mixed with Boswellia carterii in the Somali frankincense trade.
Sourced from Somalia, where Boswellia occulta is now harvested separately rather than being mixed with Boswellia carterii during sorting. This selection combines small and medium tears from the Grade 1 and 2 sort.
The selection includes naturally lighter and darker resin tears, with occasional pieces of attached bark.
Size, color, opacity, surface texture, and the presence of natural bark vary from piece to piece.
Store closed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture.
For aromatic use only. Do not ingest or apply to skin. If warming or smoldering, use in a well-ventilated area on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Never leave heat or flame unattended. Keep away from children, pets, drafts, and flammable materials. Allow tools and surfaces to cool completely before handling.
