Sandalwood

History

Indian Sandalwood (Santalum album) is a precious and fragrant wood prized for centuries for its captivating aroma and potential health benefits. Native to India and Southeast Asia, sandalwood trees hold a significant place in various cultures. For millennia, sandalwood has been used in religious ceremonies, traditional medicine practices, and the creation of luxurious perfumes and incense. The heartwood of the sandalwood tree is the most sought-after part, known for its distinctive creamy-sandal scent with a touch of spice.

Benefits

Sandalwood's unique fragrance is often used in aromatherapy to create a sense of peace and well-being. The calming aroma is believed to promote feelings of relaxation and tranquility, making it a popular choice for meditation and yoga practices. Sandalwood's grounding properties can also help to ease anxiety and improve focus, creating a space for inner reflection and emotional balance.

Our Sandalwood

At Soul Space Incense, we understand the importance of ethical sourcing and sustainability. We are committed to a sustainable and ethical supply chain for our Indian Sandalwood. We partner with an Australian supplier of plantation-grown Indian Sandalwood products, grown without genetic modifications or the use of growth enhancers. Our sandalwood chips are chipped
from pure Santalum album heartwood, meaning the logs are de-sapped and de-barked prior to
chipping. Indian Sandalwood is prized for its characteristic sweet, creamy, and woody aroma.

Our ceramic incense holders are perfect for enjoying the rich and luxurious scent of sandalwood. Our unique incense warming method allows the delicate scent to slowly release over the low, long-lasting heat of a tealight candle.
